Rev Chek: Precision Calibrating Instrument for Pilots
Operating Instructions

"Rev Chek" was being helped into the market in 1953 by propeller manufacturer McCauley, as many private plane owners were troubled by inacurate tachometers. The cheap tool was first mentioned in the "Flying Magazine" of September 1953...

The Basic Aerobatic Manual
Kershner, William K.
First Edition

William K. Kershner's The Basic Aerobatic Manual is designed to serve as a reference guide for flyers enrolled in introductory aerobatics courses. Though the manual emphasizes air-speeds and techniques recommended for the Cessna Aerobat, the maneuvers described in the book may be performed in other airplanes certificated for aerobatics.
Kershner introduces aerobatic maneuvers in order of difficulty, covering stalls, steep power turns, spins, loops and rolls and combinations of the two, and a variety of other maneuvers. A separate chapter is devoted to the subject of recoveries in unusual situations. As always, Kershner presents his material in a clear, understandable, and humorous style. The Basic Aerobatic Manual is fully illustrated and contains a practical syllabus, a detailed bibliog-raphy, and an Index.
Bill Kershner started his aerobatic career in a Stearman N2S at age 17 and instructed aerobatics and towed banners in a Meyers OTW biplane at age 19. At this writing he has over 2000 hours of aerobatic instructing and 2100-plus spins in the C-150/152 Aerobat. Kershner operates a one-plane, one-instructor aerobatic school in Sewanee, Tennessee, using a Cessna 152 Aerobat. He also is the author of The Student Pilot's Flight Manual, The Advanced Pilot's Flight Manual, The Instrument Flight Manual, The Flight Instructor's Manual, and co-author of The Student Pilot's Study Guide, all published by Iowa State University Press.

The Turbine Pilot's Manual
Brown, Gregory N. - Holt, Mark J.
2nd Edition
Includes Systems CD-ROM

Everything a pilot is expected to know when transitioning to turbine-powered aircraft
Whether you're a piston pilot preparing for turbine ground school, a transitioning military pilot boning up for that first corporate or airline interview, or an old pro brushing up on turbine aircraft operations, The Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual is designed for you. With precision and a sense of humor, authors Greg Brown and Mark Holt cover all the basics, clearly explaining the differences between turbine aircraft and their piston engine counterparts.
In addition to comprehensive descriptions of turbine aircraft engines and all major systems, this manual addresses high-speed aerodynamics, coordinating multipilot crews, wake turbulence, and navigating in high-altitude weather. You'll be introduced to state-of-the-art cockpit instrumentation including the flight management System (FMS) and the head-up guidance System (HGS or HDD) and learn the operating principles of hazard avoidance systems including weather radar, lightning detectors, and the ground proximity warning system (GPWS), plus much, much more.
Also included are a glossary of airline and corporate aviation terminology, handy turbine pilot rules of thumb, and a comprehensive turbine aircraft Spotter's Guide.
The authors clarify complex topics with a wealth of illustrations and for the first time include in this edition the multimedia Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual Aircraft Systems CD-ROM (MAC and PC). Now, while reading the book, you can access narrated color animations that make complex Systems easier than ever to understand.

Training Design in Aviation
MacLeod, Norman
Well structured training, based on sound theoretical principles, can transform the system in which high Performance is essentiell, and in turn, the organisation. Yet the strategie role of cost-effective training provision is often less well understood than it might be in all branches of aviation - whether civil or regional, general, business or military.
This book analyzes the cycle of training design from the identification of requirement through to measurement of effectiveness. Key issues in training design and management are illustrated with examples, and learning is consolidated through case studies. The book provides advice, tools, procedures and examples of best practice - both recent and well-established - to assist aviation training personnel. The approach is highly practical, but does not avoid covering the theory when needed.
An informative guide to the process of training analysis and course design, the book examines each stage of the training design cycle in some depth. In addition, it looks at the application of quality management and of project management to training design. Each chapter contains advice and techniques, as well as examples drawn from the author's wealth of experience of training in aviation.
Training Design in Aviation offers an up-to-date and complete guide to training analysis and to course design in the aviation context. The benefits of using it include:
• more cost-effective training;
• more efficient course development;
• increased understanding of training äs a process;
• improved staff skills.
Designed for all in aviation management, training department personnel and training schoois responsible for conducting training, and the effective functioning of airlines, general and business air Service operators and military agencies, its readership includes commercial airline pilot training departments, commercial and military pilot and non-pilot training schools.
