Private Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge
with Dallas Sectional Aeronautical Chart
With this handbook comes the Original Dallas Sectional Aeronautical Chart, dated Mar. 7, 1961.
This handbook The Private Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge contains essential, authoritative information used in training and guiding private pilots, but until now found in several different publications. Applicants for private pilot certification, flight instructors, and flying school staffs have often suggested that the Federal Aviation Agency issue this type of material under one cover. This handbook responds to those requests.
Much of the inforrnation in this handbook is based on subject matter included in the FAA booklets Path of Flight, Realm of Flight, and Facts of Flight. These publications have been available to the aviation public for over a decade and have been very popular. This new handbook, however, tells the private pilot for the first time how to use to his best advantage: (a) FAA Airman's Guide, (b) FAA Flight Information Manual, (c) data in FAA-approved Airplane Flight Manuals, and (d) basic instruments required for airplane attitude control.
All subject areas in which an applicant for private pilot certification may be tested are covered in this handbook, except the area of pertinent Federal civil aviation regulations. Private Pilot Certificate test items are always based on current regulations, as amended. Up-to-date, applicable regulations should be purchased and studied by each certificate applicant as nearly as possible to the examination date. All FAA regulations are sold at the Superintendent of Documents, United States Government Printing Office.
This handbook was prepared by the Flight Standards Service.
