Land's End Aerodrome
A Bird's Eye View
Smith, Rose - Pitman, David
The Lands End peninsular at Penwith, Cornwell is one of the most scenic in the World, with granite headlands leading to wonderfully green valleys and sandy beaches. You can only fully appreciate its splendour from the air, on a sunny day. This, together with the proximity of the Isles of Scilly just 22 miles to the West, has made Lands End Airfield a
valuable asset to visitors and the local community.
The Airfield started operations in 1937, making it one of the oldest in the UK. This is a short history, from its small beginnings to today.
