More Tails of the Fifties
Another Anthology of Flying Memories
Campbell, Peter G. (Editor)
Signed by the Editor: "Best wishes Peter Campbell"
Peter Campbell, a lifelong aircraft entusiast, has put together a sequel to his successful "Tails of the Fifties"
This time there are no less than twenty-six authors involved! Some contributed to the previous book have been rash enough to agree to do it again, and quite a few others, many of whom are well-known in aviation circles, have been gently persuaded to yield up their personal memories of this fascinating time in aviation history, covering the period from the end of WW2 right through the fifties and into the early sixties when the 'American Invasion' was under way.
Many of the chapters contain personal experiences concerned with the flying of small aeroplanes, although Service aircraft and airliners of the period are also well represented; indeed, the flying of these was just as exciting and at times just as unpredictable. Also included are the memories of those who, although not pilots at the time because of youth or insolvency, went to great lengths to record the details of important aviation events which are now part of history.
