Training for Victory
The British Commonwealth Air Training Plan in the West
Conrad, Peter C.
The agreement for the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan was signed on December 17, 1939. Over the next five years, the air training plan was to train over 131,000 air crew for the Allied cause, and western Canada was to become host to approximately half the schools of this massive national effort.
Training for Victory, published to coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the plan, celebrates its achievements on the Prairies and documents a proud moment in Canadian history.
